Axiom Learning was founded in 2009 by Shahzad Bhatti and Dr. Aisha Simon, Harvard alumni whose journey began not in a boardroom, but at home—as parents.
Watching their own children navigate the education system, Shahzad and Aisha saw firsthand how many students struggle—not because they lack ability, but because traditional interventions only address surface-level symptoms. Too often, schools focus on academic gaps while overlooking the foundational skills that enable learning: executive functioning, cognitive processing, and self-regulation. When these root causes go unaddressed, students fall further behind, teachers feel unsupported, and special education referrals soar.
They set out to change that. Over 10+ years and 200,000+ hours of research and development, they built a comprehensive system of assessments, curricula, and professional development grounded in cognitive science. Their approach has been validated through a Gates Foundation funded multi-year research pilot—and the results speak for themselves.
Today, Axiom Learning is used in over 500 schools across 47 states and on multiple continents, helping educators identify learning barriers early, implement targeted interventions, and empower students with skills that last a lifetime.
