Discover The Axiom LearningTM Program For Students with Learning Differences

Did you know that some of the world’s most successful people struggle with learning differences? Steven Spielberg, Michael Phelps, Ty Pennington, Charles Schwab, and Tim Tebow achieved great things, despite their academic challenges.

Axiom recognizes that students with learning differences are often very bright and just need targeted support. That’s why we developed LEAP 3.0TM, an innovative program that provides struggling students with educational tools so they can focus and learn. Led by Dr. Aisha Simon, a Harvard-educated physician, Axiom Learning spent over 10 years and 50,000 hours of research, design, and testing to identify the causes of learning challenges and how to address them. The result was LEAP 3.0: a fully integrated, customizable program that helps students with:

      Who Can LEAP 3.0 Help?

      Students with ADHD

We know that students who struggle with attention challenges can find school especially frustrating. At Axiom Learning, we understand that not all attention challenges are the same. Our ADD & ADHD Support works by addressing the underlying skills that support learning which are often the cause of learning challenges. Axiom Learning’s LEAP 3.0 works by:

      • Helping students focus and sustain their attention
      • Enhancing a student’s sensory integration
      • Improving social skills
      • Accelerating cognitive processing abilities
      Students with Dyslexia

When we read, we see letters on a page and “speak” them into our brain using input channels for auditory processing (that’s why you often move your lips when you are reading). Dyslexia and other reading, writing, and expressive language challenges can occur when this “phonological loop” breaks.

Axiom Learning’s innovative LEAP 3.0 Program uses targeted exercises to train the brain, eyes, and auditory processing channels so that they coordinate information accurately and efficiently. LEAP 3.0 allows our students to see dramatic improvements in:

      • Reading fluency and comprehension
      • Working memory
      • Enhanced attention and focus – particularly reading and writing
      • Strengthened visual tracking and binocularity – improving decoding and listening
      • Social skills
      • Writing skills and expressive language
      Students with Executive Functioning Challenges

At Axiom Learning, we understand how frustrating it can be to struggle with Executive Functioning challenges. These skills don’t come naturally to every student and challenges can get in the way of their capacity to express their full capabilities. At Axiom Learning, we have seen how someone who starts off struggling can thrive when given targeted support and coaching.

Executive Functioning challenges are unique to every person so our programs begin with an assessment in order to pinpoint your child’s specific strengths, learning style and areas of challenge. This assessment allows our team to develop systems to help your child with:

      • Time management
      • Organization
      • Planning
      • Response inhibition
      • Working memory
      • Emotional control
      • Sustained attention
      • Flexibility
      • Meta-cognition
      Students with Autism

Parents of kids with autism know the challenges their children navigate, including communication challenges and difficulty relating to people, things, and events. Autistic students may struggle with repetitive body movements and behaviors, inflexibility, and emotional regulation.

Axiom Learning’s LEAP 3.0 Program addresses underlying drivers of many of these challenges through carefully curated exercises targeting sensory-motor integration and the processing and integration of auditory and visual data. Axiom Learning welcomes students who need specific autism treatment. Students who go through the LEAP 3.0 Program often see the following benefits:

      • Accelerated cognitive and information processing skills
      • Strengthened sensory-motor integration, such as decreased sensitivity to loud noises and bright lights
      • Increased situational awareness and the ability to respond flexibly to new situations
      • Improved social skills and greater awareness of non-verbal cues
      • More emotional regulation and the ability to co-regulate with others
      Students with High Anxiety

We all experience anxiety to some degree but high anxiety occurs when the anxiety is out of proportion to the situation, age inappropriate, or hinders the ability to function normally. This anxiety can stem from challenges with integrating sensory inputs (light, sound and social interactions) or difficulty with managing uncertainty. High anxiety can compromise concentration and our ability to persist while fueling a fixed (defeatist) mindset.

LEAP 3.0 supports students struggling with anxiety by helping them better integrate sensory inputs and develop a growth mindset. After LEAP 3.0, students often experience:

      • Strengthened emotional regulation
      • Enhanced ability to manage time and break down tasks
      • Developed growth mindset and persistence in tasks
      • Reduced stress and greater ability to feel joy and optimism

How Can LEAP 3.0 Benefit Your Child?

Parents who bring their kids to Axiom Learning in West Portal notice that they are more confident, focused, and equipped for success. Axiom Learning’s LEAP 3.0 helps develop the motivation to learn and enhance each student’s sense of independence.

Overall, parents reported noticing that their child is:

      • Better able to keep up in class and work for longer periods of time
      • More focused while also spending less time completing homework
      • Demonstrating increased eye contact and awareness of social cues
      • Less stressed and anxious about new situations
      • More interested in math or reading than before
      • Making more friends with other kids or bonding with teachers
      • Showing increased independence and motivation

Students who participate in LEAP 3.0 for a minimum of 50 hours (out of 250 hours of available exercises) improved by an average of over 4.9 years in cognitive growth.

Why wait? Axiom’s LEAP 3.0 Programs offers for students with ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, and Autism.

      How LEAP 3.0 Works

At Axiom Learning, we know that the root cause for most learning differences is a gap in the student’s physical, cognitive processing, or Executive Functioning systems. We understand that most students dealing with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and other learning challenges are smart enough to learn, but they have underlying weaknesses that make learning difficult.

We understand that students are unique individuals who each learn differently. Some students struggle in school because they find it difficult to process visual cues, while others may not decode auditory information accurately. Many students with learning differences have trouble organizing their thoughts as well.

Existing interventions often focus on subjects at the “tree-top level” of learning, but Axiom Learning addresses the underlying causes of the challenges.

LEAP 3.0 address inefficiencies in physical, cognitive processing, and Executive Functioning systems with detailed, personalized assessments and targeted exercises, leading to greater academic success.

      The Levels of LEAP 3.0

      Sensory-Motor Integration

LEAP 3.0’s Level 1 includes a battery of sequential, coordinated exercises which synthesize sensory-motor processing and mindfulness in a way that dramatically enhances a student’s ability to self-regulate and helps students who otherwise struggle in mainstream classrooms. Skills targeted include rhythmicity, balance, bodily spatial awareness, visual tracking, and auditory skill development.

LEAP 3.0 also works to strengthen the visual and auditory pathways to process information more efficiently, accurately and automatically. This allows students to spend less energy on merely processing information and more energy on deeply understanding and applying that information to academic or social contexts.

After LEAP 3.0, students often see significant improvements in:

      • Emotional Regulation
      • Reducing Stress and Anxiety
      • Auditory Processing
      • Visual Processing
      • Balance
      • Attention & Focus
      Cognitive Processing Skills

LEAP 3.0’s Level 2 incorporates sequential, coordinated, and integrated activities that allow students to more accurately gather information from their classrooms and environment. Specifically, LEAP 3.0 trains visual and auditory pathways to process information more consistently, efficiently, accurately, and automatically through structured activities for developing cognitive faculties. These faculties include: sustained attention, processing speed, working memory, visual manipulation, logic and reasoning, and auditory discrimination.

For many students, increasing cognitive efficiency bolsters their expressive and creative productivity as they are able to interpret visual and auditory information with significantly more certainty and ease. This leaves additional energy for other tasks as well as higher order critical thinking.

After LEAP 3.0, students often see significant improvements in:

      • Productivity
      • Working Memory
      • Processing Speed
      • Language Processing – including Reading and Writing Skills
      • Logic & Reasoning
      Executive Functioning

LEAP 3.0’s Level 3 is Axiom Learning’s cutting-edge Executive Functioning curriculum. The dynamic and fast-paced demands of modern life can be overwhelming. To manage these demands it is necessary to develop strategies that can optimize our storage, retrieval, and use of memories and knowledge. These Executive Functioning strategies enable students to reflexively organize, prioritize, and strategically plan for school and beyond.

LEAP 3.0 also supports the development of a growth mindset and trains students to devise effective systems of goal setting, time management, prioritization and organization in support of their daily life activities, both in school and beyond.

With LEAP 3.0, students often see significant improvements in:

      • Attention & Focus
      • Organization and Planning
      • Time Management and Reducing Procrastination
      • Prioritizing and Organizing Information and Tasks
      • Productivity and Grades
      • Reducing Anxiety
      Academic and Collaborative Transference Activities

Research shows that most cognitive training programs yield improvements within the prescribed activities and on subsequent assessments without having a lasting and generalized impact. Students need deliberate practice within domains relevant to real life applications to ensure transference of enhanced sensory-motor, cognitive processing, and executive functioning skills to everyday demands.

Synthesizing academic activities with quantifiable metrics, critical thinking, and collaborative activities with qualitative rubrics, allows our students an opportunity to witness their own transformation. This empowers them to tackle similar assignments and challenges in the real world with greatly enhanced effectiveness and zeal.
