At Axiom Learning, a world-class education team stands behind you! Our faculty combine instructional expertise, cutting-edge diagnostic tools, and years of experience in order to help ALL students achieve success. Our process is as follows:
Our customized assessments assess where each student is RIGHT NOW across a wide range of sub-topics. Whether you are getting ready to take the SAT, need targeted support in academic subjects like Math, Science and English or need to understand how your Special Learner can best be supported, our diagnostics point you in the right direction to design the most effective learning plans for your child.
Our diagnostic tools provide our faculty and education team the data we need to design customized learning plans which efficiently address your child's specific deficits, challenge and extend their strengths and focus on the topics and areas they would most benefit from by not wasting valuable time on areas which won't help your child. We revisit these plans a MINIMUM of every 8 weeks to make sure your child's support is always targeting their specific needs in real time.
Supported by our education team, our dedicated faculty members will work with your child to develop the processes and frameworks needed to achieve their objectives. Your faculty members are never alone in helping your child succeed - all of our faculty members meet on a weekly basis to discuss EVERY student’s learning plan and check in with our global education support team at least twice every month to ensure they are using the most effective tools we have available.
You should always know WHAT we are doing with your child and WHY we are doing it. We have the most robust reporting processes in the industry to ensure you are properly informed. We regularly call all of our parents and provide extensive progress reports every semester which provide a great deal of detail and recommendations for each of our students. We are also always happy to meet with you to explain the progress we are seeing and areas of continued focus moving forward.
Hi! My name is Chris Fincher, and I am so excited to work with you and your family! I grew up in Westport, Connecticut and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Chicago. At UChicago, I focused on nature writing and the emerging field of ecocriticism, and received my Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Language and Literature. My encounters with the obstacles confronting today’s students have motivated me to adopt a holistic approach to teaching, encouraging students to grow as individuals as well as learners. For three summers, I worked at the Connecticut-based firm Causeway Collaborative, creating content to provide individualized academic support and recovery services for at-risk young men. In addition, I served as Vice President of AppUp Mentoring at UChicago, offering one-on-one guidance and college application support for local high school students. I hope to continue helping students identify and pursue their passions while cultivating the learning skills they will need to accomplish their goals. Outside of Axiom, you’ll likely find me with a book in my hand, practicing yoga, cooking, or exploring the outdoors, although I have yet to perfect the art of doing all four at the same time!
Hi! My name is Taylor Matthew and I graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Biology and a certificate in Integrative Genomics Sciences. While at Wesleyan, I worked as a teaching assistant and peer tutor in biology and worked in the Sultan Lab where I studied plastic traits and parental effects in plants. I also spent two summers conducting research at Southern Illinois University and UMass Boston. Before attending Wesleyan, I grew up in Detroit, MI and attended an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, where I received my IB diploma. My teachers always emphasized the application of what we learned in the classroom to what we might encounter in the real world. Learning to use the equations and principles covered in class and apply them to new scenarios was a huge part of IB, and something that I think would benefit many students. At Axiom, I work to incorporate this philosophy into my sessions. When I'm not at Axiom, you can find me reading, hiking, or exploring the city. I look forward to meeting and working with your child!
Hi there! My name is Andrew Coronato. I am from Scotch Plains, New Jersey and graduated from Boston College, where I studied English and history. My experience in education began with tutoring my younger brother throughout my adolescence and teaching Sunday school as a student in high school. At Boston College, I continued to develop a passion for educating others by tutoring elementary school students in math, as well as working with adults at the New England Center for Arts and Technology, a culinary school and job training facility. I also taught English as a Second Language for programs at Jackson/Mann School in Boston. Through these roles, I discovered that working one-on-one with students provides the ideal opportunity to bolster their skills. I strive to empower my students so that they will succeed not only in their current classes and upcoming tests but also in the years to come. Outside of Axiom Learning, I love to cook, read, write, and go hiking. I am thrilled to be working with you and your family!
Hi! My name is Jasvinder Dhesi and I graduated with a Master's in Philosophy and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. While at Teachers College, I experienced a diverse course load that ranged from curriculum building, educational philosophies, and the psychology of creative and critical thinking. I also presented at conferences centered on introducing philosophical discourse, deductive and reflective thinking, and ethical systems to secondary school students. During my undergraduate career, I studied at Colorado University, earning two bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Classics. My teachers have always emphasized that we constantly encounter multiple perspectives during the learning process, but it is with those perspectives that we come to refine our own understanding of the world, freed from adhering to dogmata. I strive to apply that philosophy at Axiom, demonstrating that education is a tool that produces revolutionary changes in one's life, which they can then impart on the lives around them. When I am not at Axiom, you can find me running, listening to music, or exploring the city in search of good coffee. I look forward to meeting and working with your child!
