      University Preparation

When most people think about applying to university, they think about scores, marks, and grades. But there is something else that’s just as critical: demonstrating your passion and competence through activities beyond the classroom.

Activities such as research, work experience, reading, and community services are evidence that not only can you do great in the classroom, but that you are an impactful member of society. Start your activities early in high school in order to give yourself time to find your interests and to demonstrate continued commitment.

      Our Speaker

Shahzad Bhatti and Dr. J. Aisha Simon founded Axiom Learning in 2009 (right in the middle of the last financial crisis and with three young kids of their own) with the mission to leave the world better than they found it. As they looked into the different ways to improve the world, they kept seeing the same dynamics: if we are going to be able to solve the world’s biggest problems of tomorrow, we need to rethink how we approach education today. For their bold leadership, dedication, and innovative approach, Shahzad and Aisha won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2018.

Before founding Axiom, Shahzad was an investment professional, consultant, and entrepreneur where he worked on over $40 billion worth of deals. He has also taught at Harvard Law School and was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Shahzad holds degrees from some of the world’s most prestigious institutions including a JD from Harvard Law School, an MPA from Harvard’s JFK School of Government, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science, Economics, and Biochemistry from Columbia University.
