Work with Axiom Learning gets you the support of more than just one instructor – our team centered approach allows us to draw on the varied experience of our faculty who are experts in creating targeted, effective lessons for each student. Our proven assessments give us the necessary data to tailor our support and allow every student to reach their goals as effectively as possible. Our process is as follows:
Our customized assessments assess where each student is RIGHT NOW across a wide range of sub-topics. Whether you are getting ready to take the SAT, need targeted support in academic subjects like Math, Science and English or need to understand how your Special Learner can best be supported, our diagnostics point you in the right direction to design the most effective learning plans for your child.
Our diagnostic tools provide our faculty and education team the data we need to design customized learning plans which efficiently address your child's specific deficits, challenge and extend their strengths and focus on the topics and areas they would most benefit from by not wasting valuable time on areas which won't help your child. We revisit these plans a MINIMUM of every 8 weeks to make sure your child's support is always targeting their specific needs in real time.
Supported by our education team, our dedicated faculty members will work with your child to develop the processes and frameworks needed to achieve their objectives. Your faculty members are never alone in helping your child succeed - all of our faculty members meet on a weekly basis to discuss EVERY student’s learning plan and check in with our global education support team at least twice every month to ensure they are using the most effective tools we have available.
You should always know WHAT we are doing with your child and WHY we are doing it. We have the most robust reporting processes in the industry to ensure you are properly informed. We regularly call all of our parents and provide extensive progress reports every semester which provide a great deal of detail and recommendations for each of our students. We are also always happy to meet with you to explain the progress we are seeing and areas of continued focus moving forward.
Hello! My name is Gabi, and I look forward to supporting your child! Growing up in a family of Japanese, Italian, and Russian descent, I’ve enjoyed taking on many different cultural perspectives. With this mindset, I majored in Creative Writing and East Asian studies at the University of British Columbia, where I was highly engaged in script, fiction, and nonfiction writing. There, I also participated in a creative writing mentoring program, where I designed and implemented lessons focusing on globally sensitive prose. While getting my Masters degree from Harvard University, I worked on similar projects, resulting in a final thesis which took form as an Educators’ Resource. Hoping to better the integration of race and identity for students, the resource aims to bridge the gap between research and practice by using literature in the context of social development for bilingual learners. At Axiom, I am able to apply this idea to my work by guiding students in finding their own unique narrative and learning style. Outside of Axiom, I enjoy cooking, traveling the world (up to 15 countries so far!) and writing creatively. I hope to work with your family soon!
Hi! My name is Taylor Matthew and I graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Biology and a certificate in Integrative Genomics Sciences. While at Wesleyan, I worked as a teaching assistant and peer tutor in biology and worked in the Sultan Lab where I studied plastic traits and parental effects in plants. I also spent two summers conducting research at Southern Illinois University and UMass Boston. Before attending Wesleyan, I grew up in Detroit, MI and attended an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, where I received my IB diploma. My teachers always emphasized the application of what we learned in the classroom to what we might encounter in the real world. Learning to use the equations and principles covered in class and apply them to new scenarios was a huge part of IB, and something that I think would benefit many students. At Axiom, I work to incorporate this philosophy into my sessions. When I'm not at Axiom, you can find me reading, hiking, or exploring the city. I look forward to meeting and working with your child!
Hi! My name is Chris Fincher, and I am so excited to work with you and your family! I grew up in Westport, Connecticut and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Chicago. At UChicago, I focused on nature writing and the emerging field of ecocriticism, and received my Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Language and Literature. My encounters with the obstacles confronting today’s students have motivated me to adopt a holistic approach to teaching, encouraging students to grow as individuals as well as learners. For three summers, I worked at the Connecticut-based firm Causeway Collaborative, creating content to provide individualized academic support and recovery services for at-risk young men. In addition, I served as Vice President of AppUp Mentoring at UChicago, offering one-on-one guidance and college application support for local high school students. I hope to continue helping students identify and pursue their passions while cultivating the learning skills they will need to accomplish their goals. Outside of Axiom, you’ll likely find me with a book in my hand, practicing yoga, cooking, or exploring the outdoors, although I have yet to perfect the art of doing all four at the same time!
Hello! My name is Kharis Yeboah and I am very excited to work with your child here at Axiom. I grew up in Canada before moving to Texas where I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry with double minors in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While earning my degree, I was given the opportunity to tutor student athletes in various fields from Calculus to Cell/Molecular Biology. I fell in love with teaching and spent a few years working as an SAT/ACT instructor before moving to Boston to pursue a Masters in Biology at Harvard University. Here at Axiom, I like to bring a holistic approach to teaching. My greatest satisfaction is when a student leaves Axiom with a real understanding of a fundamental math, biology, reading, or writing concept. When I am not at Axiom, you can find me running, cooking, or playing the piano. I look forward to meeting you!
