Using our best-in-class diagnostic tools, our support is tailored for each student to reach their goals as efficiently as possible. Our process is as follows:
Our customized assessments assess where each student is RIGHT NOW across a wide range of sub-topics. Whether you are getting ready to take the SAT, need targeted support in academic subjects like Math, Science and English or need to understand how your Special Learner can best be supported, our diagnostics point you in the right direction to design the most effective learning plans for your child.
Our diagnostic tools provide our faculty and education team the data we need to design customized learning plans which efficiently address your child's specific deficits, challenge and extend their strengths and focus on the topics and areas they would most benefit from (while also saving time by not wasting valuable time on areas which won't help your child). We revisit these plans a MINIMUM of every 8 weeks to make sure your child's support is always targeting their specific needs in real time.
Supported by our education team, our dedicated faculty members will work with your child to develop the processes and frameworks needed to achieve their objectives. Your faculty members are never alone in helping your child succeed - all of our faculty members meet on a weekly basis to discuss EVERY student’s learning plan and check in with our global education support team at least twice every month to ensure they are using the most effective tools we have available.
You should always know WHAT we are doing with your child and WHY we are doing it. We have the most robust reporting processes in the industry to ensure you are properly informed. We regularly call all of our parents and provide extensive progress reports every semester which provide a great deal of detail and recommendations for each of our students. We are also always happy to meet with you to explain the progress we are seeing and areas of continued focus moving forward.
Hello! My name is Shari Dryden. Originally from Denver, I have been working with kids for as long as I can remember both inside and outside the classroom. I graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of the Arts in English and History. While at BC, I became inspired to work as an educator through my service with programs such as Jumpstart for Young Children and Big Brothers Big Sisters. BC also taught me that curiosity and learning can spark from anything and everything around us—whether that’s finding the poetics behind rap music or even critically analyzing Disney movies! I firmly believe that every child deserves the chance to succeed, and I hope to share my joy of learning in all aspects of my life. When I’m not teaching, you can find me reading, road tripping, biking, or serving up a scrumptious jazz brunch with friends and family. I’m delighted to work with you and your family at Axiom!
Hi! My name's Dean Antonio, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to work with your children! I grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts and studied English literature at Tufts University, focusing on both creative writing and analytic writing about film, literature, and the visual arts. While in school, I volunteered for Let’s Get Ready, an organization devoted to providing free standardized test and college preparation to students in underserviced areas of Boston. I quickly developed a passion for teaching students in a personalized way – tailoring lesson plans to each students’ needs, strengths, and areas of interest, to help them become invested in (and excited about!) their education. Learning can be the most satisfying and rewarding part of a child’s life, so long as their teachers help them connect their passions – whether it’s creative writing, or art, or mathematics, or sports – to their other areas of study. In my spare time, I enjoy writing poetry, cooking, and playing any instrument I can get my hands on. I cannot wait to get to know your child and help them get excited about learning!
Hi all! My name is Ben Kahn, and I graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in History and a minor in Classical Studies. At college I really came alive when I discovered my fiery passion for education and working with youth in a transformative and inspirational way. For four summers I worked on the staff of SEAD, an educational non-profit aimed at enrichment and college prep for high school students, and went on to complete Dartmouth’s Secondary Teacher Education Program where I honed my pedagogical skills and understanding. My desire for world travel led me to twice volunteer as a teacher in the Marshall Islands where I spent more than a year working with middle and high school students on tiny Pacific atolls (and learning to play the ukulele in the island sun). Next I traveled to Vietnam on a Fulbright scholarship to teach English at a university in the Mekong Delta for a year, and I loved it there so much I stayed for another. I’m thrilled to be at Axiom where I love working with students one-on-one and facilitate the kind of targeted growth I could only dream about as a classroom teacher. I can’t wait to meet your child to get started working together!
Hi there! My name is Anneka Kumli and I'm originally from Boulder, Colorado. An advocate of outdoor adventures, and adventures in general, I attended Stanford University where I studied Political Science, Theater and Performing Arts, and Italian. As an undergrad I worked with the Stanford Visitor Information Services where I counseled perspective freshmen and their families on the admissions process. Teaching has been an integral part of my life beginning in high school where I taught fellow underclassmen, through college, and to now. I strive to find the individual ways in which each of my students best learns and connects with the material at hand. I believe that each student has a unique perspective on learning and performs best in an environment that is encouraging, supportive, and offers appropriate challenges at each level of development. I strive to see my students grow both academically and personally, and I seek to build a strong relationship of trust with each one to help ensure they achieve their full potential. I look forward to getting you know your children and helping them grow!
